In addition to our partnership that we are building with SPARC BC, our priority areas into 2017 are as follows:

  • Fundraising
    • The Task Force currently has no funding for its operations and is seeking new sources to continue our efforts. Our first annual fundraiser gala is happening in Fall, 2016 and we hope to make this an annual event that will engage the community while bringing some much-needed funding to our group.
  • Community Tables
    • The Surrey Homelessness and Housing Task Force will be seeking out opportunities to sit at the tables of other community groups to represent the interests of Surrey’s most vulnerable populations.
  • Recruiting New Members
    • We want to reach organizations and individuals in the homelessness/housing sector that we are not already engaged with. We are also seeking to engage stakeholders and interested individuals from Surrey who are not normally engaged in the discussion about homelessness and housing. If you are interested in being more involved with the Task Force, please contact us.
  • Gaps and Needs Analysis/Report Card
    • In conjunction with our partners at SPARC BC, we will be working on developing a Surrey Homelessness Report Card that can be used to highlight the state of housing and homelessness in Surrey for policy makers, service delivery organizations and other stakeholders to utilize.
  • Building Capacity
    • We will continue to build capacity in the homelessness and housing sector in Surrey to increase impact and work together whenever possible.
  • Homelessness Action Week
