Homeless Count for Greater Vancouver to take place on March 8, 2017

BC Non-Profit Housing Association, in partnership with M. Thomson Consulting, was selected by the Metro Vancouver Homelessness Partnering Strategy Community Entity to implement the 2017 regional homeless count.

Every three years since 2002, government, funders and community agencies have relied on data from the homeless count to help make informed policy and program decisions. As in previous years, the 2017 count’s goals are to produce a reliable estimate of the number of people who are homeless, to obtain a demographic profile of the homeless population through the count survey, and to identify long-term data trends.

For the first time, the count will also pilot a waterways and rural strategy, as well as an enhanced urban “strategy for Surrey.”
